Our story begins with more than 40 years of hands-on experience in fast-ferry operations across the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand. Many will know the long-standing brand we come from: Fullers360, New Zealand’s largest fast ferry operator spanning across public transport and tourism experiences.
For many years our focus was on providing a world-class fast-ferry service for commuters and visitors alike. Then in 2018, we began our decarbonisation journey by tapping into new tech developments around the world. We spent many years carefully researching and investing in innovative ways that we, as an operator, could look to reduce our emissions on the water without compromising our busy network.
Fast forward six years later and we’re pleased to see our vision for a zero-emission future on the Hauraki Gulf is becoming a reality. Now our specialised team at NetZero Maritime is taking this to the world by focusing on supporting our partners to achieve their own net zero targets.
Here in Auckland we’re delivering five electric hybrid vessels for Auckland city, the first of which will be complete in 2025; as well as the first electric hydrofoiling vessel for Auckland due to begin commercial services at the end of 2024.
We’re on the cusp of a once in a generation shift in the maritime industry and we’re incredibly proud to play a pivotal role in delivering a new era of transport solutions. It should come as no surprise that our top priority is to reduce emissions, but what keeps us motivated is that at the end of the day the work we’re doing today will ultimately transform the way of life for the communities who benefit from a decarbonised transport environment for many years to come.
